SvviftSVT thats a good cruising speed.. and its easy to slow down to the "appropriate speed" if the fuzz is around.

I usually cruise between 75 - 80. 80 I can actually maintain gas mileage and not lose. So it shouldnt take that long at all.

bigdesignmachine Google maps puts Leander to Houston at about 2hours 58min. I always have this feeling Google maps averages their times based on 65 MPH so with that being said I think the drive would actually only take around 2hours 15min - 2hours 30min since the speed limit is 70 - 75 the entire way.

I seem to remember the drive from Austin to Houston was around the same as Houston to Beaumont

I've driven from Houston to Beaumont and it's a long boring 1.5 hr ride.

But funny thing ... I love visiting Dallas to see fam.

bigdesignmachine I want to say 2-3 hrs. It's not a horrible drive. I used to drive from Austin to Beaumont every weekend.
