PNWSVT Ya i think thats a good place to mount it. It actually barely fits in that space so I had to used some force to get it in there, which secures it pretty well without having to drill lol. You cant tell from the picture but its an upside down wedge box, so the upper back portion rests on top of the wheel well.

BLRich1 nice! How did you end up securing it?

Kipp looks like you should have room to mount it to the side (towards front or car) of the box with no issues.

Heres the setup. Not bad for under 200. I should probably mount my amp somewhere....

BLRich1 upload it to a "3rd party hosing site". I use photobucket. I cant wait to see it.

PNWSVT Finished my project. It fits pretty good and sounds great! Now to figure out how to put a picture up.

PNWSVT That is an odd shaped box lol. Good to know- I'll try to construct something that fills that space like the ones suggested. Thanks everyone

Kipp first off, welcome to the forum!

have you looked at something like the mtx thunderform or jl stealthbox? they both have applications designed to replace the factory enclosure and comform very well to the body structure and give good performance. if you stick a wedge in there you will most likely need to secure it to keep it from rattling or rolling around in the hatch. also you will prolly still have a fair amount of open space since it's a generic shape and not for that specific application.

BLRich1 I'm not an audio expert but but have done my fair share of tinkering. My current box is a really odd shape and I have not had any ill effects. There are plenty of boxes that aren't just "boxes" that perform well everyday. I think you would be safe with an upside down wedge as long as its all properly sealed.

Here is my box. you can see what I mean by "odd":
