|amc49||Did you physically SEE the wreck yourself? Even if part seems good I would steer away from it if the wreck damage involved that corner of car to possibly have put impact forces into the spindle...............|

|PowerFocer||It seems to be fine, and the only reason I'm considering putting on junkyard parts is because I can't find a reasonably priced spindle, bearing, and hub anywhere. Unless you guys can help me with that.|

|rsnow||I have seen little issues with rear hub bearings, problems are usually with the ft but since this one has been in a wreck you never know. Like sleepy boy said, hold the top of the spindle with one hand and spin the hub with the other. Compare side to side they should feel similar.... no grinding.|

|xxMichaelAnthony||Personally, I would only take the spindle, brackets, parking brake cables, and calliper then get a new hub, pads, and rotor.|

|sleepyboy||Does it feel gritty when rotated or smooth? Is there any side to side play in it? If no then it is probably fine. When you put it on it, if you hear it roaring or anything like that then it would probably need to be replaced. Some times it's hard to tell.|

How to tell condition of spindle/hub/bearing?
I have a rear brake assembly from a wrecked svt (spindle/hub assembly, bracket, etc.) The hub seems to rotate fine on the spindle, but before I put junkyard parts on my vehicle I'd like to figure out if they are in good enough condition. How would I go about doing this? I don't know how to remove the hub/bearing from the spindle, so help with that would also be appreciated.
