jcjhl69 I ran 12 guage to all the doors over the weekend. I thought about drilling through the connector but decided against that. It was time consuming but thanks to a little bit of creativity i was able to get it all done and it only took 5 hours. LOL!

austinpetemo I ran 12awg to my front doors a few weeks ago and it was a bit of a pain getting the wire into the door itself. When you take the boot (i guess that's what its called) off the door youll notice that the wires don't run through it like you'd expect but that its a plug that goes into the door. Thankfully most of the bottom plug isn't used and you can drill through it and run your wires through. Its hard to explain, and unfortunately i didn't take pics when I did it but hopefully that made some sense.

On the passenger side I think its a little different. Ill try to take pics tomorrow if I remember.

ViperThreat Its not too bad if you know what you are doing. It can be done in a few hours. For mine, I pulled the seats, the interior panels, and just pulled the carpet back enough to lay the wires. the doors were a bit harder to get the wires through the right holes, but it wasnt too bad.

I ran slightly lower gauge wires for better sound, but im also running a dedicated amp to my speakers.

How hard is it to run new speaker wire's?

Like the title says how hard is it to do? Also what all is required? I have looked at the doors and the areas where the wires go through and have seen some post about that being connectors instead of just a passage for wires. I have a 2006 ZX4. The reason for needing this done is the speakers keep turning on and off. It is acting like a short some where. speakers have been replaced as well as the head unit and it still is happening. And help is appreciated.
