92will I tried the procedure that 02fordsvt suggested but it would not work. I could not get the horn to chirp to say it was entering the program mode.

The doors lock as soon as the key is in the run position, before starting. I am used to starting our cars in the winter to warm up, but this is the first car I have ever had that you have to unlock after starting. I'm just afraid she will lock them up more often than normal.

I just received 2 more blank keys in the mail today so I will have a few extras now.

Thanks for the help

don627 Mine locks on its own in two ways first if I unlock the car but, I don't start it and close a door it will relock itself in about 2 mins. Second if I put it in drive and move it will lock the doors once I reach like 3mph. Other than that mine doesn't lock by itself. I think these cars have a mind of there own sometimes.

92will Ok, I guess that is the way they made it. The car is actually my daughter's and she luckily has only locked the keys in it once, but I just think she has been real lucky. I have got to get another key made and put it under the car with a magnet.

Thanks for the help

Doors lock when I dont want them to!

Hello All,

I have a 2007 ZX4 that I bought with a salvage title. This is the first Focus I have owned so maybe this is normal. The doors will lock as soon as I put the keys into the ignition. If I reach in and start the car to warm it up, the doors will lock. Every other car I have owned with automatic door locks wait until I have driven several feet before locking. This is very aggrevating. Is there something wrong with my car or is this normal? Is there any way I can change it?

Thanks for the help
