trevor_shiggs Coolant temp sensor? When a vehicle is cold it adds fuel. When hot it should take away the fuel but if the temp sensor still reads cold it will over fuel it causing it not to start. Seen a few vehicles with no start / hard starts hot cause by coolant temp sensor.

JayDeZ Check the fuel pressure when you shut it off and after 10-15 min. I had a 5.0 once that did this. It was cracked injector that was relieving all the fuel pressure, when shut off, into a cylinder and flooding the engine.

I'd say its either a Pressure regulator or an injector.

jimmy4me Sorry for the delay. No, it did not stay started. It did not start until the temp gauge was almost all the way back down. But turning the A/C fan on helped bring the temp gauge down faster

my_beautious_ZX3 you said in your original post "It will stay started if I keep my foot on the gas but will die back out once my foot is off the gas."

After you started it today with the A/C on, did it idle okay or did you have to keep your foot on the gas to keep it from stalling?

jimmy4me So today when it happened I did turn the A/C on before I tried to start it. I noticed that after I turned the A/C on the temp gauge went down faster and I was able to start it again sooner then usual.

My IAC had the exact same behavior as yours. First time it stalled was way down in Natchez, Mississippi on a hot road trip in 2009. After that, only once every couple of months, but then got much worse in 2011 - stalled on every warm start. I was able to kluge it for several months by kick-starting the IAC (starting the engine with the air conditioning on); that worked every time.

I hope it's not your IAC...because no man should have to do that gawdawful repair twice!! I cleaned the hell out of my IAC about a year ago and so-far so-good, but alot of folks on this forum have reported that cleaning didn't work - they had to purchase a new unit.

Thanks for the welcome! Sorry just banging my head on the desk with this problem. I really thought I had these focus issues mastered! It has everyone working on it stumped right now. UGH!

doubles hmm I would try as imimhell says try and get a reading on fuel pressure and see what it says

iminhell If you can log or view fuel pressure with your new scan tool, do so.
It should be right around 39psi.
If the sensor is bad it will read much higher. I was seeing upwards of 80psi; but that was a false reading. It wasn't actually that high, which is why the car still ran well.
