sailor Ahhh... OK

Seen it more often on differentials, but I've heard of steel pans giving up as well....

Gets real "crusty" and starts seeping....

jasonbi didn't hit anything(that i know of)...last year i noticed a lot of rust on it. tried to clean it all off and coated it with high temp paint. crawled under last week to do the oil change and noticed a lot of rust and oil on the bottom of the pan, not leaking from up top by the gasket or coming from the drain plug.

sailor just a dumb question, why a pan?

Did you hit something with it?

(I've got a damp pan to deal with I noticed on the last oil change, but it looks like the O-ring that seals the dipstick tube is the culprit....)
