sailor How about making a new thread for your issue? And give as much description as you can, along with engine/model details since yours is a European MkII that wasn't imported to the US/Canada.

This old thread is for common issues with the MkI/II Duratec, not diagnosis of particular ones.

jjpmaia I know the thread is a bit old, but wonder if someone could help me with this noise on my engine?

(I'm not allowed to post links, please.search for jjmaia in YouTube, is my most recent video)

At first I tought it would be the belt or a bearing, but the belt was changed back in October. Also, I have put some spray lube and the noise is still there.

The belt is on the left side of the engine, but it seems can eat a air leak on the right side, do you think that could be it?

Thanks

elsolo I had to replace the pump at roughly 57k miles as well, but the previous owner had some fluid other than ATF in the system and a leaky rack when I bought it, so that may have contributed to pump failure (groaning).

gimmemoreboost My 07 2.0 has 57k on it and the only problem I've had with the motor is the pos power steering pump going out. I get parts for cost at the shop so I got an oem ford replacement. Been good for the last 10k.

I have since replaced it with a reman and it burns 0 oil and runs perfectly. Just check your oil every time you get gas and top it off if it needs it and you will be good to go!
What would help there is a bsd= balance shaft delete plug & w/ that you'll find the motor holds 6qtrs of oil.

Pull the air intake off the throttle body & hold the tb open & spray some tb cleaner down the throat of the tb & work the tb open & close. You'll see its from the egr. Mine is clean after having a tune to turn the rear 02 senser & egr off.

Bad hub barring or in the axle. Still think ill change motor mounts too since there's a lot more vibration than when I bought it. I read too that a bad passenger mount can cause strain on the axle anyway.
P.S if you do the hub bearing spend the 60 bucks and have Napa...etc. press it because they have a powerful press its a pain with a small home one.

When I first noticed the vibration it was at speeds around 70 ish, it really didn't make it at city speeds. But a little later it was 30 and up. Its pretty scary sounding and feeling lol
