|sleepyboy||Oh yeah and check the power wires and the ground. Check the alternator pigtail to see if it's getting pulled out. Sounds like she knocked something loose. Also if she hit something hard enough it could have triggered the fuel pump cut off. If you look in the passenger side wheel well you can see the reset switch. I would have tried that first before undoing the battery terminals. Though I don't see how it would effect it after that was done. Ether way check all the terminals and grounds. Anytime my gauges dropped off or reset while driving it was the power cables or lack of contact from them.|

I can't imagine the motor mount making the engine run poorly and cause the gauges to go nuts.
Is it possible that there was a ground knocked lose or something? I'd start going over the connectors and harneses in the car, check all the grounds.
Sounds like a Motor mount died when you hit the bump and maybe knocked something electrical lose.

|sleepyboy||Also check out Rockauto for prices, they beat most places and you can probably replace all the mounts for much cheaper than you think. Now as to what brand to use that's for you to decide. Not like there is many choices ether.|

|superdutyscaler||so how do i tell if they are bad? the upper mount is around 100 bucks and the bottom one i didnt check prices yet. Im sure my sister doesnt want to just spend money to "see" if it fixs the problem|

|superdutyscaler||well the upper hydraulic mount isnt leaking nor do i see it move at all. the bottom mount which looks like it couldnt hold a weed wacker still isnt busted but it does move alot when the trans is putin gear. Up and down movement also when i jack the car up and push on the motor from underneath?|

motor shaking and dash going crazy
been trying to figure out whats going on with my sisters 08 focus. Its a 4 banger that has 58k on it and ill start by what happened...
about six months ago she was going home and hit this VERY bad railroad track and the car actually stalled, she called my dad and he called me and i went to the street where she was the car was completely dead, so i removed the battery cables and rehooked them and it started and ran fine. A few days later she said the car shakes in idle or park and sometimes now it shakes very bad when dving down the street. Also a random times the dash goes out no gauges at all and then comes back on and its fine for a few days and then it quits again from a few seconds to almost a half hour one day. Ive been using my scanner evertime it does this but the car throws no codes so either something is loose from her hitting the railroad track or theres a short in the wire harness???
