icon719 This is my 74 firebird formula 455 engine.. Its nice to look at.. Its big, its pretty (when its clean and all together), and i wouldnt dream of putting a cover on it. My focus engine is boring, small and ugly, i want a cover for it lol.

RonMaiden Engines aren't a beauty to look at in most cases anymore hence engine covers;I'm not a fan since they would seem to hold heat in the engine.

Can someone explain to me the appeal of engine covers? Especially coming from fellow car guys. When I pop a cars hood, I want to see an engine in the engine bay. Not more plastic.

You want it to look pretty? Who are you going to impress? If you wanna impress me, clean your engine up, wipe it down. Now that's pretty.
Maybe I do want flowers. Maybe I'll get some butterflies and unicorns airbrushed on there, too. If you don't like engine covers, don't put one on your engine. Problem solved.

Jp-12 Not everyone's choice of fitment, but I like where she sits for now. Still needs work!

And I need practice taking photos lol

ChalupaJones That's good to know at least. I'm torn lol. I like them but I don't know if I want more chrome.

I kind of want the set that lights up too, but this was a deal I couldn't pass on. I'm not too worried about dirt. Had a steeda set on the last car and there was almost nothing when I removed them. Plus these are actually flush with the car lol.

Older engines, sure. But on modern stuff i'd rather stare at this shiny plastic. Better than looking at a fuel pump, lines, boots, wires, etc.
