I need a little help! swapping engine.

I have a spi as of right now and it has a knocking noise in the lower end and it has been starting to act funny. So I don't want to put money into the motor an it just blow. Thats why i was wondering what engine would be the best to swap?

I would also like it to be a lot faster. My car is also a automatic an i would like not to change the transmission.
