What does this tell you Suss?
Of the numbers and letters that were not blurred out I can tell that it was an American built engine. DEFTP= Dearborn Engine Fuel Tank Plant. The engine was built December 6th 2011.

That means that as far as I can tell the 2.0 L GDI Ti-VCT engine is only made in the U.S. so far, specifically in Michigan, a few miles down the road from the Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne, Michigan.

This is out of my car, the engine was built 12 days before the car was assembled. (4/11/12 vs 4/23/12)

I ask because it could be possible that they imported the powertrain as assembled from the U.S. just as they import the 2.0L EcoBoost from Spain, and the 1.6L EcoBoost From England.

It's just the shading, that corner is solid. Maybe the 1.6's don't need them.
