pintoman Gas in Chico, CA ......87 octane is now $4.05 gallon.....why the increase.....don't know! I know that next year gas will go up .16 a gallon more due to the CO2 tax for refineries....but now!

Here in MI the e85 / 87 price difference is typically $0.50 or less (usually $0.25-0.30 cheaper then 87) which doesn't even make sense to throw it in the tank.
MN has a higher subsidy IIRC. Meaning that the State pays the farmer more in the way of tax breaks for the corn.
But I do know that where I am E-85 is the lowest in the state, it seems. I go anywhere more than 50 miles from here and I pay more, maybe $0.20-$0.40/gallon more.

26.45MPG highway back and forth to family on E-85. Or about $0.09/mile.

Gasoline I'd get about 31MPG, @$3.48 that would be $0.11/mile.
So in 300 miles I save about $6.
In a year @15,000 miles, about $30.

Not significant in any way. But I'm not really loosing money on switching either. The longer I figure the more it becomes a null equation.

iminhell I have for 5 years, and will continue to.
If you don't want to, up to you.
I don't push my choice of fuel on others or expect anyone to change. And I expect others to respect my choice of fuel as I do theirs.

Same I have a truck as well but only really being used for a cruise every now and then or when I need the bed/towing - was $1.49/l ($5.639? per gallon) this weekend for gas!
