There have been a couple warranty extension bulletins mailed to Customers, it souinds like you just got the second recent one on TCM warranty extension.
The earlier bulletin mentions the extension of warranty on most of the cars ('12- mid '14) for Clutch pack, seals & programming. This extends to 8yr/100k miles, beyond the existing 5/60 powertrain warranty.
Just what is done on each visit to check out troubles depends on the test results at that visit. Ranges from updated programming to full clutches/seals replacement & programming.
Lots of info. avail here, most "stickies" are at the top of this page with one at the top of the General Tech Chat section. MkIII section has a good "stickie" on driving characteristics in normal operation.
I'll come back to this and add a link to one of the better ones from this area on the warranty extension (slightly dated by now, but good).

New to the board. I just wanted to know what Ford is covering in terms of repairs? Specifically, are they covering the costs of clutch repairs?
I bought my 2012 Ford Focus SE at 46,000 miles and it drove like a dream. I noticed the more I drove, the louder I was hearing a particular noise accelerating and decelerating the car (sounds almost identical to an RC car) and the car shuddered when I pulled off. I was told that due to the type of transmission, this was perfectly normal. Then, over the course of the last month, the shuddering got worse. Coincidentally, the recall/customer service bulletin notice came in the mail. I took the car to our local Ford dealership, and was told that the TCM had been reprogrammed. I was also told that the transmission technician drove my car. The shuddering stopped, but the noise was still there. We followed up with Ford, and were told that the seals on the transmission could be leaking (as a result of the TCM and shuddering issue) and to bring the car back to the dealership. I looked at my printout, and there was no indication that the tech had even checked the seals.
So, I took it back to the dealership, where one of the service reps (not one of the mechanics) drove in the car with me and heard the same noise. He told me I was completely justified in my concern and my car is now sitting at the dealership waiting for their ONE transmission technician to return to work on Monday.

Ford Focus SE or Ti with MTX-75 5 speed manual transmission
Ford Focus ST with 6 speed manual transmission
If you take the DCT out of the equation and you know how to drive stick, no other car in this price range even comes close.
Anecdotally, there seems to be less problems with the newer DCT equipped Foci but I would still be reluctant to buy one. The manual transmission completely changes the character of the car and puts you in complete control. The MTX-75 manual transmission, while dated, has a solid reliability record.

Meagan, the Ford rep who checks in here, may be able to help.
Maybe not much immediately, but getting in touch with Ford to have more looking at the problem & trying to help out can't hurt. Considering that you already have an appointment for more work, they probably can't speed that up any more since it's scheduled soon.
Members here can help out with information & guesses at your problem to help your understanding (and hence communication to the Dealer).
To do so effectively we'll need more information on the details of your problems and their exact symptoms. Between your two posts there is only one mention of a specific problem, and that's not detailed enough to guess at the possible cause & repair needed.
Hopefully the Dealer was able to do more diagnosis of your problem in the 4 days they had your car, including replicating the exact issue to help in that diagnosis. Considering they scheduled you back for a clutch pack replacement, they were at least able to test & prove that there was an issue which suggested that procedure as the best repair at this time. (I assume you gave them more details & know they had the opportunity for more checking from what you've mentioned)
Lots of info. avail. here, and other members who can help out & sympathize with your issues. Again, they need more from you to help discuss likely problems involved.

|jsc1429||Has anyone had issues with their 2012 focus loosing acceleration? If so, what was done, if anything, to resolve this issue? I bought mine new in 2012 and have not had any issues with this until about a week ago, I took it into the dealership and all they did was the recall for the windshield wiper issue (which took 4 days and me paying for a rental car!) and sent me on my way, telling me to bring my car back in 5 days to replace the clutch! I brought the car in bc its a major safety issue and is unsafe to drive, not the stupid windshield wipers! .... I've been researching this online and there seems to be a lot of people with this issue and Im not feeling too good about the issue being resolved.|

Can't get a call back from Ford's Tech Team
I've spoken in the past to a very helpful lady at Ford, Rory Sullivan, but her extension is now assigned to someone else who takes messages but doesn't return calls. Perhaps the name 'service' is a misnomer?
I bought my 2012 Focus SE hatchback with the 6-speed auto new (ordered with the sport pkg) and took delivery in June 2012. It's been in the dealer for 'fixes' for the transmission issue (jerking, missing, etc.) 4 times and 'updates/upgrades' have been performed only to have the problem reoccur.
I have 60K on the car and am a fanatic about service. 3K o/c's w/filter, 6K rotations, 10K air filters, etc., and I'm in my 60's so I'm not drag racing with it although I do like to tromp on it once it's in a higher gear getting on a highway.
I love this car except for the tranny issue and the absurdly complicated sound system for all but those who still have yet to go to a senior prom and have their acne clear up.
Anyone suggest a similar vehicle in terms of economy, fun to drive, great mpg, etc.? I have to get this fixed or get it gone and Ford won't admit to the fact that it doesn't have a fix. Please advise.
