Hi, HuskerFocus -

The New Vehicle Limited Warranty also does not cover any damage cause by alterations or modifications of the vehicle including parts such as the body, chassis or components. In addition, the Warranty does not cover damage caused by tampering with the vehicle, tampering with the vehicle's emissions or the parts that affect these systems such as the exhaust or intake systems.

Mrlandy I actually just sold my old sync service only unit after having the dealer upgrade my new nav unit to 3.5.1, I have the a4 card. What a difference. The nav and Bluetooth issues are fixed. Even after the update a master reset is critical, everything is wonky until the reset. I actually pulled the negative battery just to reset the tranny as well (please don't remove the battery tray, the negative ground is right on the fender next to the battery). The nav updates nearly instantly when the screen has to be redrawn. The only issue I see is that you cannot enter a home wireless key (greyed out) when the car is sitting in my driveway, but who uses that anyway? Jailbroken iphone with forever skip hack on Pandora and Sirius radio over Bluetooth is fantastic now. I even plug in my phone and slingbox tv to the dash when in park through my phone, the usb port glitch is gone. Now there is a button that will let me switch phones/iPods that are paired so we can let all of the passengers play DJ via their devices without any lag. I also hook up my GPXCanoo and play pac man on the dash screen. Very happy.

2 Things after pulling the neg. battery for 10 minutes, you will have to reprogram the windows to roll down with one click. You will also notice that any glitches in the transmission will be gone unless you use cruise control during the learning process.

I still need to wire in my 3rd party backup camera, but the weather has been so bad, I haven't wanted to pull apart the dash. I'll send pics when I take on this task. My titanium has come a long way since I purchased it, like a bad hobby. Stick with it, my car is now how it should have been when I bought it. Now I just have to Dip my rally wheels for winter and i'm done......for now.

$250 is awesome! I saw someone on the boards do it for $500 (actually I think it was this thread?...).
Yes! I think I got a good deal, but they probably gave me the price because I am getting other modules to try out (active park, backup camera/module).. what I might do, I know its a pain, but I am going to hold onto my original unit and if push comes to shove I will just install it back if need be.. I don't plan on it but I guess you never know..

What I was thinking is maybe its possible to make an image of the firmware chip and make copies for people to put on their own unit. Like a clone :) Would require some technical skills but it should be possible. I have a lot of experience with electronics, firmware chips and such so I might actually tackle this project. I find it useless/wasteful to have to buy a WHOLE unit to bypass software. I will find a way :)

HuskerFocus I still hope Ford allows this option in the future with those that have MFT ... and to add to the idea that it should be possible (since it is all but confirmed to be a software and 'flag' issue), Mazda has been doing this for a while: http://content.usatoday.com/communit...1#.UL4dyYaOMVA

Granted, the way they upgrade is likely different then what Ford has to do, but still ... the precedent has been set. I just hope there is enough push/talk to do something about it once this MFT 3.5 rolls out smoothly.

This wouldn't be a big deal if I were still able to use the google maps navigation on my droid razr maxx, but when the phone is synced with the car, the car disables the turn by turn audio of the google maps. Additionally, my text messages don't come through my car anymore (this feature only worked for about a day), so I paid for this my ford touch unit because I thought it would make everything seemless for me, and instead it has made my life worse. If i want turn by turn directions I need to un-sync the phone from the car which defeats the purpose of having the my ford touch in the first place. Can someone please help me... this stupid car was way too expensive for none of this to work...it makes me want to cry.
Hi, pandora677 -

It shouldn't take 30 minutes to download a route as long as your phone is in an area with coverage. If the issue persists, I recommend removing the battery from your phone to reset its Bluetooth Chip. If you're an iPhone user, perform a soft reset:

http://Support.Apple.com/kb/ht1430

At any time during your trip, the voice command UPDATE ROUTE may be given.

Another option is to use the SYNC Destinations application:

http://Support.Ford.com/sync-technol...c-myford-touch

Like Google directions, you must be moving less than 5 miles per hour to utilize this feature, but it's a great app!

Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Can the ROM on the APIM be flashed like the CMOS in my PC? That's a hack I could use...
