2. Even if your oil holds up and you have reserve TBN, your tiny FL-910S oil filter has a finite filtering capacity. It could very well be plugged and bypassing dirty oil at 12k miles.

3. It violates the Ford manufacturer warranty. (10k limit)

This^^^^^^+ I don't care what someone is telling you to go 12k on oil, don't do it. I'd go to 5-6K & thats it.

stefcio007 On my '95 Golf I would do an oil change (+filter) every 5,000km (about 3,000 miles?) and I did it myself so I could buy expensive oil and it was still cheaper than getting it done by someone else.
A full tank of petrol (gas?) is only a bit less than doing an oil change.
Apparently 10,000 km (~6,000 miles) is what I should do for more recent cars.
I also know that the job was done right, yes I have been ripped off once before so that made me learn how to service my car myself.

rebelx I'm running close to (but not over) 10k for my oil change intervals. Based on my driving pattern, manufacturer recommendations, and my independent lab oil analyses, there's no reason to do it sooner.

In fact, Blackstone Labs is recommending I go to 12k the next time I want to change oil because there's enough additive left in the oil to not have to worry. I won't be doing so, but it's nice to know there's buffer room.

Yes: Dzus fasteners.

RRogers Tired of the Torx30 wrench (EngineCover) every oil-change.
What about some sort of plastic (prefer metal) "quick-releaser".
Do those exist?
Thanks
