bawxcar Hey whats wrong with Ontario?! My swaybar looks better then half the undercarrage of my car and its been on there most of its life. :-P

JBR makes a lovely 32mm rear sway bar with aluminum mounts..bright red or boring black. :-P

Just glad it didnt break whilst under hard cornering on you.

Thats some crap customer service for a company that has a store in Milton, Ontario. But theyre pretty salty there anyways...

Twenty Well, this was unexpected and unfortunate.

I installed a Steeda rear sway bar on my car in the summer of 2012. It was purchased brand new and it went in in perfect condition.

Fast forward to this summer and suddenly something seems...wrong. With the car in the air we inspect the bar and find that it has completely broken in two due to rust. We took photos and I got in touch with Steeda. To their credit the person I was dealing with initially was very helpful and great to correspond with, but then my request was transferred to another individual. After only a few more back-and-forths I received this response:

"Hi Bill. first of all rust is a atmospheric condition, not a defect in workmanship. 2nd the bars coating is only covered for 1 year especially with a harsh northern climate that you live in..."

Now I could *maybe* understand something like this happening if I lived in Ontario and never washed my car, but considering this is Alberta and the car is washed extremely frequently, I am alarmed at how fast this piece failed. Nothing else on my car is showing anything more than usual surface rust, nor have I even experienced anything like this on my other vehicle which is 24 years old and was driven through 20 full winters.

To stress, this is not some minor issue of a bit of coating wearing; the bar is now in two pieces and therefore is nothing more than scrap now, needing to be replaced. I am rather unimpressed with the service I received and especially frustrated that it seems to have just been written off as "this stuff happens" due to my living north of the border and an assumption that it automatically means my car is subjected to excessive salt and chemicals.

Thanks! I wasn't even intentionally trying anything. Glad you appreciate it though!

Twenty I took a page from Kyle Mcgrew's book and cut down eglove's old Maxton front lip to make a new filler piece for between my Cup Spoilers. It's not perfect yet but it allowed me to reuse an otherwise useless smashed lip and already looks way better even with the remaining damage it has.

Twenty Not much has happened to the sedan recently apart from continued running and checking of all of the systems following the swap. It went on its first proper road trip over the weekend though and everything went perfectly well which is more good news. 3000+ kilometers now and so far, so good!

The only real change has been a slight update to the livery but that's about it. I'm just waiting to clear out more of Mario's old ST before buying more upgrades for this thing.

Twenty Another weekend, another show. The ST sedan got a lot of attention and the little information binder I put together for shows was read by a lot of people it seemed.

Twenty I'm mostly through all of the photos from Sunday School so I can now share these - we won!

Sunday School's awards are given out a bit differently than other shows in that there are no individual classes. What the judges deem to be the top 15 vehicles of the show take home the awards and the ST sedan took one this year! It was the perfect way to end what was an absolutely mad two weeks as we tore the car down and put it back together.
