|Mysticalwaters1||Just wanted to let you all know I too had the rattle in the headliner above the driver and front passenger seat and by the moon roof. Drove me nuts. Really annoyed since it was so new and so random. Seemed much worse in colder temps. Brought to ford dealership they cleaned the moon roof which of corse made it worse. Another visit had a drive with a mechanic of course didn't rattle then but offered me to put foam blocks in it. Dropped the car off again and at end of the day ford tells me they looked into it further the headliner is coming undone is a known issue and they're going to replace the headliner. Jeepers. Hopefully that helps but this was the only forum specifically detailing this issue and really felt brushed off by ford. Really annoying. Hopefully this fixes it and they don't do more damage repairing it.|

I still have an intermittent rattle coming from either the steering wheel column or to the immediate right by the a/c vent. I can't tell where exactly and I'm not sure how to isolate it. The rattle is not consistent, but it sounds like a piece of plastic is lose and is shaking/hitting against something.|

|ChalupaJones||I've got a rattle in my passenger side door. My dealer fixed it and it came back. I haven't been able to get it back to them to resolve it again, I'm curious though, does anyone have a diagram with instructions to take a door apart and put it bak together so I don't break anything? I'd google it but I'm at work, haven't got the time to hunt. Thanks!|

The one n the steering column your taking about is the two halves if the instrument cluster. It's pretty easy to pull out and put felt tape around. Make sure the one on your passenger side door isn't just a different part of the headliner. It fooled me a bit like that.
I've found that after years and years some restless actually get better.

I've had my focus two weeks now. I bought it used - 2012 SE w/ 19k on it. It was quiet as a coffin when I took it out on the test drive and remained so for the first week I had it. Then came the headliner rattle. Stuck some foam up there per recommendations on this forum. Seems to work.
But now I have a rattle from the passenger side door as well as behind/in the steering column. Reading through this thread has scared the bejeesus out of me. If the car rattles like this now when it's only two years old, what will it be like 5 years from now?!

|RonMaiden||I have a couple annoying rattles that I'm locating and going to bug Ford about them but this car has exhibited a bit more rattles than my 14 year old 4Runner with 180k on it and it's also bounced around off-road quite a bit.|
