suumguuy Coming from a guy who works in the service department at a Ford store........DO NOT pay attention to your oil life monitor. Change your oil every 8000km (do the conversion if you are in the USA). If you plan on keeping the car for any length of time change it every 8000km or every six months. If you seen what I've seen come out of the oil pan of people who go by the oil life monitor you would not question this..... and I know there will be many people who say I don't know what I'm talking about. Bottom line is.... don't cheap out on basic service items. An oil change is 50.00. I'm in Canada and the conditions here are probably worse than most regions....extreme cold and hot.....extended idle times etc. But even if you are in more Focus friendly region......just change your oil regularly.

has anyone done the drain and fill on the DCT? seems pretty easy.

I cant really think of anything else that would need to be done.
I'm just doing everything by the book, except oil changes a little more frequently than called for... Now to get to doing that stupid air cabin filter that's been in my hatch for a month...

I was pretty sure I saw that on the national Ford commercials at that price but it could just be regional.. It would never hurt to ask for "The Works" for $39.95.
I do this too, same price although i do mine every 3,000 miles. it's a good service for the price.

We have it down here in TX as well. I've already set up appointments months from now on the Ford site and The Works coupon is listed there, so I assume its a national promotion.
