mikebontoft I could care less as long as they do what theyre supposed to. As mentioned by previous posters, if their personal life interferes then theres a problem; gay or straight

goinloco1 I've had some in units that would battle with the best of them, then there were those that would run around trying to find someone to feel sorry for them when they got a papercut (we called these sniper bait).
There are way more gays in the military than one would think, alot choose not to show it.

SPEKTRE76 I'm fine with it, not every gay man or woman is out to violate your special places. And who is to say what is proper or moraly ethical? They are humans just as we are. They just have a different sexual preferrence than we do. And that is all it is...a preference. It does not mean our gay brothers and sisters are incapable of performing their duties or taking on challenge and responsiblity.

the funny thing is the roommate was black. now that I think about it, none of the black guys, nor anyone else for that matter would hang out with him.

^^^ this, but...the old bumping into a person, do it once we all know shit happens, do it twice your gonna be on your ass. especially in the shower. wouldnt be the first time someone slipped and fell.
Whats funny is I did end up with a gay as a roomy in germany, he stayed on his side and i on mine. I made things perfectly clear from day one. The straw that broke the camels back is what I walked in on one night... lets just say he slipped and fell and I ended up with far better roomies.
your gay, thats cool. but you flaunt it and practice it in my house, shit happens and you experience the full effect of gravity.
Don't get me wrong, i've got several friends that are openly gay which doesn't bother me in the least. but they don't try to force it on me or hit on me.

The African American community is often as homophobic as the redneck community, just look at prop 8 polls. And yes, it's pretty ironic.

WiscoGTI I can't speak for Active, but in my Reserve unit we knew who was gay lonnng before this. And there were/are no problems. They're open about it. But they don't run around screaming how proud they are to be gay or make a scene of it. Because it's not a big deal.
