Some DIY diagnostic tests in this thread (post #8):
Not sure though if your problem is more basic if the CC light won't light.

|whynotthinkwhynot||OK, does the green cruise control light (looks like a tiny gauge face) come on when you turn the cruise on?|

Having same problem
Hey, so I was reading this thread because I'm having the same problem. I followed all the steps recommended by another user.... I have a 2005 focus sedan
Checked the fuse (appeared to be fine)
Brake lights and horn both work
Even checked the wiring from the brake line (no clutch, its an automatic)
Anything else I can try? Please know that while I can find my way around an engine, I'm not TOO car-savvy. However, I use cruise control ALL THE TIME, and can't really afford to be paying for a costly repair at the moment.

Start by checking some basics: Your speedometer, stop lamps and horn should all work, prior to trying to further diagnose the problem. Do they?
Check fuses 42 and 53 in the passenger compartment fuse panel if your car was built before 11/2004
Check fuse 29 in the engine fuse panel if the car was built after 11/2004
Or look in your owner's manual for a "speed control" fuse location.

Cruise Control Problem 2004 SE
I was excited, to see that my Focus had cruise control when I purchased my car. Now, I know that my cruise control doesn't work... I don't know if there's a fuse or something that could not be working right I hear a lot of people who have this problem have to push up on their brake pedal and magically it will start working... that's not my case.. is there a fuse or a switch somewhere that could be broken or missing..? where's it located, if so?
