cbman Any thoughts on the Fel-pro SVT gasket vs. the Ford SVT gasket?

1turbofocus I have used the SVT HG many times on the Zetec engine with no issues

cbman Well, I can't use the stock Zetec gasket because I need the thicker gasket, but I could possibly use the stock SVT gasket since it is the thickness I need.

ZXthrizzle05 i beleive there is a difference in the holes. just use an oem head gasket

cbman I guess I'll go ahead and resurrect this thread since I'm just now getting around to doing the head gasket. I'm wondering which gasket to buy. I didn't realize the standard SVT gasket thickness is .041". I had a cometic .040" gasket.

So, can I use the SVT head gasket on a Zetec? I thought I read that there are some differences in the holes.

Maybe the shop took off too much during the line hone for the installation of your main caps?
Maybe its the 8.5:1 Wiseco pistons I got from raceeng?

1turbofocus Why are your pistons come out of the block , that is odd , No I wouldnt reuse any HG they just dont cost enough worth having issues

cbman I used the Eagle rods. They only make one model for the Zetec, right?

I didn't think it was a good idea to reuse the gasket, but I though I read somewhere that cometics are reusable.
