Don't have to be fast to have fun. Just keep practicing and whittling down your times! Perfect your technique and then add power.
I did pretty terrible my first time at the strip, but I was in a 500+whp car on street tires haha!

So I finally got to run my car on the track last weekend. I only got 2 passes before my IAC stuck open, idling at 4k, and I had to go home. Best pass was a 16.0 with a semi decent launch, was actually the first pass...ever in the car. I felt that to be kinda disappointing and pathetic, and I figured a few more passes and I could probably pulled a 15.9 out of it. Is that decent for a 5spd zetec? I have a few things done, nothing special, and fully tuned. I'm not really sure how much hp a tune is good for, or if you even get any out of it.
I ran against my buddies SVT, it's got some things done, only based tuned, and best he did was a 15.9 pass. I feel ok about at least being on par with him.

I've been wanting to do this. tech inspection turned me down due to a cracked windshield.
That's fixed and I now have a brand new engine now. I'll install the adj. cam gears and have them dyno tuned this spring. I an shooting for a 16.7 but, I'll have to remove the amps and sub. I weigh 200 lbs over stock weight.

|Godzukidan||At the track with a good launch you should be able to hit 16's. My best is 16.23 at 86 mph. Only mod was cai and steeda sts. I have the Magna Flow 2.5 flexback now and hope to get a 16.1, Don't think I can get 15.99 but that would be great!|

Did another little run today after fireworks.
Getting there. Seemed to have improved the launch.
1-2: 6500 2-3: 5800 3-4: 5800
Gonna try letting third run out the 1/4. Extra shift might be added couple tenths.

Probably about right, given the traction issues you'll have on the street.
High 16 at the track is my guess.

|streetfocus||I'll bet if you take it to an actual track you'll be in the 16s.|

For what it's worth. 342000kms and it can still survive my abuse is pretty damn good. Would like to see closer to stock numbers however, just for bragging rights. Lol.

|MisterJohnson||I think for it being stock and 14 years old that time is about right. What motor do you have?|

Instead of making a new thread I'll revive this one.
I as well have an 00 ZX3. Just recently purchased an OBDLink MX Bluetooth adapter and paired it with the Torque app for Android. It offers everything your ECU calculates. (Which is pretty sweet.)
It also does 0-60 and 1/4 times.
Decided to take my baby for a couple rips down the country road by my house.
Here's 2 of my runs.
Last nights run :
By no means is this 100% accurate results. Especially the tq and HP numbers. But, a rough estimate at least.
Not too impressed though.. Best time of
0-60mph : 10.0s
1/4 mile: 17.5s @ 130kmh
Cars fully stock. 343,000kms, full tank of gas, lots of crap in the truck (golf clubs and shiz) and 40% remaining winters.
I think with the trunk crap removed, running on empty, and some proper sticky summers, I could break into the 9s and 16s. What do you guys think?
Launched at 3200, 1-2 @ 6500, 2-3 @ 6000. 3-4 @ 6000.
Any tips or hints would be appreciated.
Car and driver states:
1/4 mile: 16.5s
Got some work ahead of me. Hehe.
