TE37 Wow looks like a lot of SVTF owner are owner of Ford Probe/MX6 too. Well... I have a MX6 V6 and a SVTF myself (actually I own a totally of 2 MX6 V6; 1 new and 1 used). I understand totally what SVTF'nGR8 comparison on the two car. I think both cars are fun to drive. The MX6/PGT have a huge powerband (2500 - 6800 RPM) working with a light weight V6. Its always fun to see a 4-bangers dropping a gear trying to speed up while the V6 just punch it. Too bad after 160k on my MX6 the car can no longer hang with the rest of the speed racers on the road. Still I always spank new civic SI with my old ass MX6.

Now I'm part of the 4-banger club... Don't get my wrong I love driving my SVTF, its a totally different car. Hopefully the SVTF will last 160k

Silver03SVT I can say with experience that the 94-95 'stang GT is a slow car. I owned a 95 for about 4 years. Its very heavy, slow off the line, (got beat by on old Tempo) and was very unreliable. Not to mention that it only produced 215 bhp and had to lug around a 3600 lb car.

svt medic The other SVTF had a bad programming problem I think. Because I came from behind to pull on him.

svt medic # 1 I'm not a kid #2 a 5.0 stang with 2 guys and gauges and a stinking fire extinguisher that can't put out a note book fire. Not hard to beat if you know how to run them. #1 They are quicker of the line, but the 5.0 is heavy and has a bad 6o ft. launch even with 1 driver that can drive, now ad two guys say170 pounds each and aftermarket rims. thats how you take them. I can drive ,been doing it for 18 years or so. the 4.6 gt is not that fast either, 14.5 all day stock. At a 30 mph roll i took a 4.6 gt to say 65 or 70 . big ass wing 150 bucks, coffee can tin sounding exhaust 125 bucks crome fire extinguisher that couldn't put out a notebook fire 65 bucks. My SVTF handing you your ass. Freaking Pricless.

Must of had the ATX. Otherwise the person couldnt drive, 'cause a descent running MTX should easily have beat em all, sure.
But for '94 when the new 'stang came out, a Probe GT w/MTX was slightly faster than an GT 'stang w/ ATX. Dont forget the 5.0 has some 3500 pounds to drag along, and it was about the most dissapointing "GT" stang ever powerwise.
This all means the SVTF should take it also, since stock-stock SVTF and the 94 PGT/MTX run pretty much equal.

dudemanzx3 So uhhhm, what are you laughing at jrzx3? I'd still like 2 know how you kids beat a 5.0.

The Probe has a totally different motor than the Cougar. Probe's have the Mazda KL03, the cougar the Duratec. It was based largely on the KLO3, yet it's totally different. Just to redeem my 94 Probe, it'll walk all over the newer cougars and has, mainly because a 94 PGT weighs in at 2815 pounds v.s. the cougar. at about 3K, and there isnt nearly as much smog junk on it.
If it was a 2nd gen Probe he raced, in stock form they put 160 ft lbs down @ just 4000 rpm, & 164hp@5600, redline's at 7K. (0-60 in 7.5 - 1/4 in 15.5 range)

I'd be willing to bet my Probe GT can take my SVTF. Too bad I cant drive both at once.
Dont freak out now, I admit that if they were matched the Probe might go down.
But the Probe has: intake, headers, exhaust, STS, clutch, aluminum flywheel, while the SVTF is stock.
I'm just saying, thats all one would need to do some killing.

But he said he was racing a 1st gen Probe so this is all irrelevent anyway. It may have had the turbo for all we know, and those are slightly faster than the V6 Probes.
