Klondike wow i laughed when i read that thats pretty funny, but unless he actually went under your car and saw they were worn and needed replacement he was just trying to get your money, im sure after your next autoX hed said time to replace the cv boots joints axles etc and youd be getting screwed

anyways A/X rules i love it im hooked it just so fun!!! the axles on foci are really strong tom was pushing 500whp on his svt and was using the stock ones so dun worry

illinipo dont bother with slots and dimples, ESPECIALLY for autox. Blanks will make you stop faster and shouldnt fade at all in a 60 second run. Read the brakes info thread at the top of the wheels, tires, and brakes forum for the how and why.

faster_than_u thanx guys ill try bleedin the lines when it gets warmer. i still wanna get new pads and rotors tho i was thinking ebc slotted and dimpled rotors w/red stuff pads. that should do the trick

DirtyDeeds ^^ I agree. Sounds like you might need to bleed your brakes. If you have a lot of miles on the car, it would be a good idea to bleed out that old fluid/air and get some new stuff in there.

One event should not have affected your brakes in the way you described.

illinipo You may only need to bleed the lines.

faster_than_u i had put new oem rotors and pads on a month b4 the event and on the way home i had little to no brakes. so i need better ones. other than that all good, thanx for all the help guyz

illinipo I ran my first time today, 168,000 miles on my axles, and they held up fine. I ran 62.1, ftd was in the 52's i think, and most rx8's were running 59's. So no I was not taking it easy. I was most worried about the axles, and then the tie rods, both of which will need replacing soon anyway regardless of autoxing...

WeeAsp 60K on the odometer.

Original inner and outer CV boots/joints.

Original rotors.

The tuner is WAAAAY out of his knowledge base.

I run a MINIMUM of 8 AX events every year and at LEAST 4-5 track events.

The focus is the most solid vehicle I've ever owned even with the hard driving that comes with AX and track use.
