clutz2516 nice job finding that problem, it would have been annoying to have to disconnect the battery all the time, haha jk

ReW thanks, i actually sorted it all out, there is a little lock release button where you stick the key in well the little tab got jammed and came loose, so i just had to dissassemble the whole bloody thing, and put it back together. It works now =D

now my whole bottom interior is satin black =D and the car didnt blow up ( it was a concern)

AcIdBuRn02ZTS what did you replace under the console? there are a few linkage pieces that can cause issues like this for the atx foci... not sure what you drive... but the car has to be firmly in park for the key to come out of the ignition.... safety deal... so if youve knocked linkage out of adjustment... or unhooked something... the car may think its still in gear but it shouldnt start technically if thats the problem... but i'd start there...

reconnected battery now the car chimes and i cant remove the key

so i had to remove the center console to replace it, and i disconnected the battery. when i reconnected it the car made the long chime that didn't stop until i put the key in the ignition, upon doing that the car start w/o any problems, but now i can't remove the key from the ignition cylinder w/o disconnecting the battery... any ideas? PLZ help!
