You just need to lubricate the exterior of the bushings so it will slide into place easier. A little bit of oil, grease or even soap and water will work.

macdiesel Has anyone tried the race bushings? My VF trans mount is on the way out. Trans bushing is popping out the sides and the bushings are cracking. Is their a noticeble difference shifting between the street and race bushings besides more cabin vibrations?

Super Cab L Yes it did. I have the VF version so I have to buy new bushings from Focus Sport.

I see that you have an SVT and I had the same problem with my VF mount. When I went over a large expansion joint it popped out half the bushing on the tranny side of the mount. On one side there's a steel plate that covers and supports the whole bushing and on the other side half the bushing is exposed and unsupported so it can pop out, which has happened to me twice. The easy fix is to loosen the bolts holding on the steel plate and take out the bushing bolt far enough so you can slid a large washer between the tranny and bushing so it can't pop out again and then just tighten all the bolts. Problem solved. The manufacturers should make the mount with a narrower bushing on the tranny side with a washer pressed on the metal bushing in the middle of the mount.
