SilverZXIII The base lancer's, and the OZ rally since they have the same engine are slow as ballz. I had one as a rental when my focus was in the shop, and the thing could not get out of its own way. The engine is so small, pop the hood and check out how small the stock intake is, and how little space the engine takes up. You should beat him in reverse.

b16sir1991 I have faith in you man, ive known you for awhile now and think you can take that POS. We just had one of those traded in and can tell you that they are pretty slow. Im not 100% sure of your cars abilities, but i think you can outdrive him buddy.

Good. Practicing your launches in the mean time. That'll make ALL the difference.

Oh, and bring a camera. I want to see some shots of his pouty face.

Hypothetically here, let's say he found a USED/rebuilt turbo for $300. It'd be a 14b or something equally small. Evo 16g's (small) still go for quite a bit more. I suppose he could have found one used for $300. That wouldn't be an impossible feat.

However, what about the turbo manifold? Intercooler? If so, piping? Wastegate (external, internal?), BOV?, fuel pump factors in, the piping he mentioned would go with that, but what about the rest of the exhaust?, tuning?, if he's going low PSI (5-6) he wouldn't necessarily need any drivetrain upgrades, probably nothing fuel related (despite his claim of a fuel pump), no tune either...

The point is, even if he went with a LOW end system, the turbo itself wouldn't cost any less than $200, and that'd be some SERIOUS luck and shopping. The manifold and piping (even not I/Ced) would still cost another 200-300 or more. I've seen people do some really light and cheap setups for around $1,000 on various Probes...but it was all pick and pull parts, fortunate finds and a lot of personal labor.

Sounds like the dude is BSing you.

Algorhythm I plan to once he gets the guts to come down here. He said he will have this supposed turbo by the end of summer.. I doubt he will.. but by that time I will have exhaust, TB, maybe a set of cams if I can find some nice Duratec ones.. but I fear for my warranty :(
