These days Massive sells a nice windage tray/pan baffle along with the BSD kit, worth doing it all at once.

For the ticking you need to listen at the intake manifold, some of that is normal from the tumble flaps - not just injector noise in that area.

Pass on the thicker oil but go w/ a synthetic oil. With the motor idling remove the vacuum line from the i/m going to the driver side solenoid & you'll hear the noise go away. Tumble flaps rattling not a big deal. These motors are really robust & have no issues w/ lifters. I'd get ordering the BSD/windage tray from Massive & figure on a Saturday morning installing it. Really a easy to do mod that'll yield more hp/mileage + hold additional qtr of oil which is a good thing. You don't want to run low on oil as it'll take out your rods.

I haven't done a transmission flush - probably a good idea now that you're at 100k miles.

Normal for these when cold, though IDK how cold it may get where you are.

Much smoother once warmed up no matter what.

Don't usually have any issues except in Winter, but this occasionally happens with all manuals.

It gets into the low 40's or cooler depending on which part of NorCal.
