New Member - 2008 Focus SES Coupe

Hello,
I am Nate. I recently bought my Focus due to totaling my 2000 VW Golf with 330 hp. I tried to get something that had minimal options to upgrade, as I am intending to move out of the country in 2017. I want to do a few small things to make the car more "me" until the move happens. Here is what I am looking to do, if anyone is local to the SE Wisconsin Area and wants to help, that is awesome. I dont have a garage, and only work i have done on cars was the Golf, and that wasn't easy car to learn on.

Here is what i hope to do:
-Replace factory fog lights for HID (already have the bulbs, just need a dry place and a video showing me how to? It seems more difficult than i had thought, so any tips on easy access to doing this would be appreciated.)

-Smoke the headlights/taillights - I bought the stuff to do it. I want the taillights slightly darker than the headlights. The chrome is just too chrome for me.. I know some people love it, i don't.

-Paint the front grill - Mine is chrome, I want black, but the $150 for a black grill seems ridiculous, and with me moving in the near future, all mods must be cheap lol.

-Side "grills"? - I want to paint the chrome yellow or carbon fiber them.

-Plasti-dip the rims Yellow - need spring to come for that to happen :(

-Replace badges with Black background and Yellow Ford - this should be easy lol.

I guess the list is longer than I thought :/ lol So much for not modding this one. Atleast it wont be the rocket that scared my family half to death.

Anyways, that is me in a nut shell.

Okay, so here is what i have gotten for my budget. I might go slightly over and get a couple more small things.. again, no performance.. still frightened to drive, car is quick enough.
Windshield Banner
Back windshield Banner
4 small back window stickers (sorry, I am a sticker guy.. ugh..)
5k HID headlight bulbs
HID Yellow foglights
Switchback LED turn signals for front
Black grill
LED Back/Taillight bulbs
Super bright reverse LED bulbs
Black/Yellow Badges
Black grill - (will be attempting to carbon fiber wrap the chrome one.. if it doesn't work, oh well..)
Tint for Headlights and taillights (still dont like all the chrome)

Decided the rims will be painted gunmetal in the spring/whenever a warm weekend comes around.

Maybe someone can answer this here, i didn't see a how to sticky or whatever, but what is the easiest way to access the foglight bulbs to replace them? I figured once i get the black grill in the mail (friday) i will swap out all the bulbs in the headlights then. I thought i remembered reading somewhere that they can be accessed if the headlight is removed, is that true?

BTW, took my car in for an emissions test last week. do the walk around before they test it, as i had to let them take it for a little bit. I get it back and there is a huge ass dent in the back passenger quarterpanel near the gas cap. They claim it was there.. i claimed BS.. so now today after work, they are fixing it. Guess it helps to yell loudly around other customers :D

First off: DO NOT TINT THE HEADLIGHTS OR TAIL LIGHTS. You want to be able to SEE and BE SEEN! See if you can find the BLACK chrome ones from later SES models instead. They really tie the car together.

As for the fog lights, yes they can be accessed by removing the headlights. They can also be accessed by taking off the covers on the bumper, or by reaching up in there with the car on ramps / in the air (though that method is a bit of a pain).

Nothing wrong with stickers; they add HP!

The tint isn't going to be dark, more like Smoked effect. I have done it with cars in the past and its been fine.

Buying the black chrome ones would have ate up my entire budget and then some from the get go.
