Hello everyone,
My name is Eric (Ravnibrow), and I am purchasing a brand new 2013 Focus SE ~$16k, in sterling grey with winter package, 5 speed manual transmission and keyless entry pad. The dealer did not have the particular model with options in stock and I was assured that he should have it in the next few days and that the car should have between 15 and 50 miles when I take possession (I don't know how normal this is, but I find it acceptable). This is actually the first ford that I have purchased, so I figured I'd pop my cherry with a focus. I drove a 94 Ford Probe GT for a few winters, and the car ran like a top at 20 years old and 100k miles.
I realize that this particular model comes with drum breaks in the rear, but I would eventually like to upgrade to all wheel disk breaks (thinking Brembo, but might be overkill). Additionally I might like to add fog lights, but I have never really used the feature on my previous vehicles, so thats a big maybe. There are a few other additions that I would like to make in the not to distant future, so I will take pictures when I pick it up at the dealership and keep a good photo log of all the upgrades as I make them.
If anyone has any tips, suggestions or advice in general on this particular model I would greatly appreciate it. Similarly, if anyone has any concepts or ideas for design and or upgrades, I would appreciate that input as well.
I have been driving an 06 Pontiac G6 GT for since 2008, but totaled it Christmas eve in a freak snow storm just outside of Detroit. Prior to the G6, I owned a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 sport 4X4 (and borrowed 1994 Ford Probe for the winters; amazing car BTW), 1984 Dodge ram 50, 1984 Corvette LT1, 1978 Chevy Impala, and a 1984 S10 Blazer.
Im glad to see that there is a community of car enthusiasts with a forum dedicated to this particular model. I hope to find good tips, advice, and hope to offer input on topics that I am knowledgeable.
Thanks all,
Ravnibrow
