Hey all, New here but, not to Ford or focus. I'm on my fourth focus now. Its a Tangerine Scream ST build option 2. Currently in shop with a burnt out clutch. Anyhow, I was pointed this way by a current member that I met over Ithaca, Ny way that has then same car. Met him on the 19th while going to Ft. Drum. Wish I could remember his name on here. Anyhow, HEY ALL.

hello to the world of Focus. Ive been a lover of hothatches for ever and now that i have one im in love. ford has been in my blood since the day i was born, with my dad owning a fields worth of mustangs f150's and broncos. I started out with a 1992 ford crown Victoria interceptor, and now im in a 2012 ford focus se hatchback. Ive already thought of a game plan for this little rocket but im uneducated as to where and what can be done as far as upgrading drivetrain. Ive already learnt alot using F.F. and i am looking forward to learning even more

Hello everyone. My name is Brian. I purchased a black '04 Focus SVT EAP 70k miles in June. I used this site to help me work on my car and it has been great. I just got an email stating that I have never posted. Unfortunately, I have to sell it due to financial reasons. I will be posting it in the for sale section when I can get pictures. Thanks for the wonderful information on the site and I will miss my car when I sell it.

Heyo,

I've been on the site for a while, never posted. I got a 2012 Focus SE hatch 3 months back, had 16k miles on it and was in very good condition. It's a manual, so it wasn't easy to find.

My idea when I got it was that it would keep me going until I could afford a Subie WRX (also - being just shy of 25, until I could afford the insurance on a WRX) so I haven't got any big plans for it. Might keep it for longer than I initially planned, because it's fantastic to drive. In that case I might get a tune (I live very close to Injected Engineering, which helps) and an FSWerks exhaust system.

Hi all who actually read this.

I also received an email about having never posted, so why not, eh? I've been a long time 1st gen Escort person, but with those in extremely short supply, I moved onto the Focus.

I have an '02 automatic wagon. While it needed some TLC when I first picked it up (rear brakes, wheel bearings, breather filter, passenger cowl, serpentine belt with idler and tensioner) it has been reliable so far. My biggest complain is the economy as compared to my old Escort (36 MPG city, 42 highway regularly). This thing has averaged 27.5 MPG all around over the past 11 tanks. Not too impressed, but we'll see how I can help that out.
I'm a fan of doing it myself, making a joke or two while being serious, and long walks on the beach.

Hi Everyone,

Just bought my 01 Red SE and it seems every time I look up anything for my car it brings me to this forum so I desided to join since I can find really good info here. I got a good deal on my car with 117k and now I am trying to keep it running for a long time and I think this will be a good place to get my info and help to do so.

I am a second time Focus owner... bought my first Focus used from my younger brother because it did so well on gas mileage and he was moving up to a bigger vehicle.

Last summer, I traded in my 2000 Focus SE sedan last year for a 2012 Focus SEL sedan because the mileage was nearing 200k and the catalytic converter was having some problems.

Loving the new features and comfy leather seats!

I found this forum when I was searching for tire recommendations- we got snow earlier than usual this year and I had to make a quick decision on tires. After seeing all the recommendations here, I special ordered Continental DWS which are being installed while I type. ;)

focus newbie. I got my '07 zx4 from my mother in law when her hubbie died, she doesn't drive. I like fast toys but this is not one of them, this car must get me to work and back- 800km+ (about 500mi) per week as cheaply as possible. I sold my perfect '99 escort to a friend when I got this, the escort had considerably better mileage. I'm poking around for solutions to make this car way more fuel efficient. I'm a former bike racer, mechanic, and licenced body & paint guy so I have a good idea of what I'm looking for, but always searching for more.

Unusual things I've learned about my '13 SE appearance group Hatchback? How about flicking the lights off and hitting the hatch open button in the same motion before locking the car - which leaves the hatch ajar (but locked) with the marker lights on (no timer at all?) so you have to unlock the hatch to close it "securely". Also I took a short detour up a twisty gravel road and found that a mild washboard surface at 20-30 mph sent the front struts into a four cycle-per-second frenzy as if there were no rebound damping at all. My one attempt to add playlists to a USB drive failed to read no doubt because the filepath (root this, directory) was different from the library so there is no way to play tracks in the order they come off a CD. Glad the mpg went from 24.5 at delivery to about 37.5 actual highway with the manual trans. Computer lies by about 1 mpg, but I actually saw 40mpg East of the Mississippi (although it held near 38 in the Rockies).

2002 ZX3 - another fine Ford Product

I bought this used car for my daughter, but it had a couple of mechanical issues and between that and the power window/lock envy, I ended up trading daily drivers with my daughter.

With the mechanical issues addressed (brakes, motor mounts) the Bright Atlantic Blue Metallic ZX3 now sports black bumpers (matches trim and moulding) and a custom black, white and blue hood. The only performance mods are Champion copper plugs w/ new stock wires, and a too-loud SS cat back performance exhaust. Fun car to drive!

New-ish to forum

Hi there. I've been on the forum for about 6 months, but haven't been very active. I drive a 2004 automatic Focus. Used to be the family car then we got a new family ride and this became my daily driver. I got into the forum because I used to own a Toyota Camry and did a ton of work on it myself, and got lots of info from the Camry Forum, so I thought I'd do the same here.

New Focus ST

I just got a race red 2013 Focus ST in August. Still getting used to torque steer and brakes after driving other cars (big difference!).
Driving is fun again after driving an SUV. I used to race a 240Z and have my 240Z that I bought in 1972. The ST handles better, is faster, and I sometimes go out my way to drive further in the ST.

I have two minor disappointments: I did not get any add on packages so I don't have a place for my sunglasses. and the coin slots are in view so they are useless in my urban environment.

What do you use to clean the wheels? the spaces are so small I can't find anything to clean it. And what about cleaning the rear window under the air dam?

Due to my driving style, I'm averaging about 24 mpg in mixed city/freeway driving. But on a freeway trip, I kept the speed down and got 29.5.

Zarquon in Oakland.

Hey, I've actually been a member since June but, I've never posted anything.
I drive a 2013 Sterling Grey SE Hatchback with the dct auto. I haven't done a lot to it yet.
I have the windows tinted and just added a K&N air filter.
I have a list of things that I would like to do but $$$$ is kinda tight right now.
I hope to someday lower it, get dual exhaust and shave the emblems and I'm sure Ill get plenty more ideas here.

Hi everyone. This might be the first time that I ever posted in a forum. I bought a 2013 focus Titanium hatchback with a 5 speed. Comes fully loaded with the Titanium package, well I guess I could use a garage door opener. First manual transmission I've had so I'm loving it. Definitely one of the best cars I ever owned.
