You know the fronts are supposed to be as far apart from each other as your viewing area is from the TV. Also the tweeters on your fronts and center are supposed to be as level as possible with your ear level (and each other) when sitting.

I have a whole new setup... it's in my sig.

Thanks for the tip... Can't get them much further apart or closer vertically but I'll have to try

No problem, I know it can be a pain. Nice setup, though. I miss my Samsung plasma sometimes. If nothing else, if the center channel is ear level at least, that's a plus since the center handles most front audio anyway.

The reason for the distance between the speakers is so, for instance a car zooms across the screen... the sound will match up better with what's happening. Otherwise it can sound like the car zoomed for a shorter distance than what you saw on the screen... if that makes sense.

My living room is 15' x 22' but the TV wall is only 12' so I tried to make it all symmetrical and have run the Set up a couple times to try and get it as good as I can. Honestly crank it to the THX level and I don't think speaker placement matters LOL

As long as you enjoy it that's what counts.

How do you get 6.1 surround from a 2.0 speaker setup?

PS: I want that NES.
