DCT Clutch time...but what, tomorrow you say? (latest version, post #4)

So i don't post very often but do read up and feel I've become pretty familiar with the DCT. So long story short, my clutches were getting pretty annoying in first, second, and sixth climbing a hill in Select Shift. Called the dealer a week ago and made the appointment for today, Monday morning. It took two hours to diagnose and they came and gave me the news. It is time for a clutch replacement and is covered under your power train warranty. YAY! So the service advisor is telling me what will be done and that they've ordered the parts. Then he asked if I wanted to drop it off tomorrow, less than 24 hours after ordering the parts. I about crapped my pants I was expecting weeks of delay for getting the replacement. I asked him again what he ordered and he said the clutches. I asked them to take pictures of the new and old parts by my car before installing them. I'm not sure if I believe them. So I should have new clutches. I've seen rumors of a new post-F revision so I'm curious about the part numbers on my invoice.

Sound odd? It sure does to me to have such a short delay. I'll find out soon!

I've had 3 clutch replacements done and I've never had to wait for any of them. So it's not unheard of.

My dealer was able to get me in within 72 hours for clutch replacement. According to them, the old clutches were replaced by the new clutches sometime in early August. The part number for the new clutch revision is:

F1FZ-7B546-B

This clutch is the one installed on the 2016 Focus. The new TCM software for this definitely makes it feel more like a DCT. Less slipping of the clutches, snappier shifts and RPM changes. From my research, the 2015 Fiesta received the material improvements to the clutch a year before the Focus. I was able to take out a 2016 Fiesta with 40,000 km on the clock with a DCT, and was unable to cause any of the issues I'd had on my car with the prior clutches over 200 km of stop and go driving.

It really hope I never have to have three....

Looks like I got the F revision on the clutches. Let's see how long they hold up considering I drive 90% city only. It's like a new car, totally different than what I expected. I guess I've never driven a Focus with a good set of clutches until now.

Took my F revision clutches about 15k miles to start stuttering, so definitely not a permanent fix by any means.

I'm hoping to get the G revision this time around. They promised I would, but they also promised my car would be done yesterday or today, but now it's been delayed to Tuesday...

Check post #4, may not be listed as a "G" revision this time.

That sucks. Guess I'll have a great 15k miles then hopefully I'll get new clutches... Then another 15k and be able to trade it in :(
