How do I get Ford to take action???

I have had my 2013 Ford Focus w/ 73,000 miles for about a month and a half. I took it in a few weeks ago due to it shuddering and they did a software flash and reset. It drove good for about the first 3 days then started shuddering again and seemed to be a little worse. Fast forward to today I get the call from Ford after I dropped it off 2 days ago and they just told me the shuddering is within spec and there's nothing that they can do. What should I do now?

If you want to tune it, talk to Tom. As long as the mechanicals are within specs, the reviews of his tunes say he works miracles to make the DCT cars driveable and even fun.

If you don't want to tune it, try another dealer. Hope for the best.

If you are told the same, just to make the car bearable to drive, maybe try modifying your driving habits to be more like the car was a manual trans. On the gas off the gas, not slowly easing around or creeping like a fluid driven automatic.

I have the latest Ford update and its horrible , I get high revs before gear changing cold , in sport mode it wouldnt shift till almost red line even at light throttle inputs , MPG was down etc
I made a new Custom Tune for my Focus and all the issues are gone and I am also still on the stock clutches

Tom

Is this new update for everyone? I am due for an oil change in less than 1000 miles but my trans is good enough imo, dont wanna ruin it with an update

You don't get updates without asking for them by bringing in the car to complain about an issue. Results of each always seem to be variable, helping some and not liked by others.

You can also end up without the initial issue, but not like the newer "feel".

Yep...I have an appointment next week with another Ford dealer in my area. If they tell me the same thing that it's within specs then I guess I'm stuck with the shudder.

If it's only bad when hot, you need to try and make arrangements to drive it yourself to warm it up before their testing - not often easy to arrange.
