Tcm update new strange issue

Hello All,
I had the newest flash done on my 2012 Focus se. The reverse chatter
is gone now, car shifts ultra smooth like a cvt. Now and only when car
sits all night, after 2 blocks of driving., The car will suddenly drop to 1st
gear (like on a manual you shift from 2nd to 1st and pop the clutch).
After that the car is fine for the rest of the day. It has done this same
thing for 3 mornings in a row. I am stumped on this issue and will make
an appointment with the dealer. i m thinking maybe a ground issue.
I scanned the car for codes and none were found. Anyone else ever
heard of this?? '

Thanks
Steven

Seems like the adaptive learning thinks you want to gun it right then and there. Maybe just a hiccup that'll work itself out in a week.

Hello,
Yes I hope that is all it is, I am going to try less load on the system, both times the
defogger was on and maybe the a/c compressor kicked on causing the tranny to
kick down to 1st. Anyway quite a shock felt like a manual being shifted to 1st and
the clutch dumped

Ironically... this is kinda of what I want to feel in my DCT (probably not the head hitting the dash like fuel cut harsh, but normal manual harsh).

Probably just learning. If it continues, I would definitely be looking to get it looked at.

Hi All,
Just a quick update, I tried another method. I made sure no power robbing accs were
not turned on. No defog mode or rear window defogger or a/c. The car was perfect
no slamming at all. I will do this for several days. My dealer is going to check the car
out Monday. I am thinking maybe a poor ground, when a/c compressor kicks on
and car is in warm up stage the sudden current draw is causing the dct clutch to
slam in/out. I will keep everyone updated.

Thanks, Steven
