Idle Vibration after Clutch Replacement

Hey all, I couldn't find a thread related to this so I figured I'd make my own. I apologize if one already exists...

I have a 2012 SE Focus (6 speed auto) with approximately 46K miles and like many of you, I had the Transmission shuddering issue and had my clutches replaced. Ever since the replacement (sometime last year I believe), I have had a noticeable vibration when the car is at idle (which is around 750 RPM). I even had a coworker comment on it when he was riding with me one day. If I give it just the slightest bit of throttle, the vibration goes away. I do want to note that the idle is consistent and doesn't fluctuate much. Has anyone else noticed this after the clutch replacement? any recommended fixes before I take it back in to the dealer?

Thanks!

May be they didn't rotate the engine over several times before tightening the clutch nuts to center the clutch, at work we make sure to rotate the engine 5 revolutions before tightening the nuts

If the job itself was warranted, then get them to check it out :-)

Thanks! I figured I'd probably have to take it back in. At least it's still under warranty!

I have come across this issue many times and I have found with a new motor mount on the passenger side (by coolant bypass bottle) the vibration is typically gone.

Do you think a new motor mount be covered under the power train warranty?

Surprisingly I do remember someone commenting on having one covered that way, hadn't guessed it would be but it was on the list of covered items.

Hi ERT_PaYnE,

I recommend heading back to the dealer who did the original repair for a diagnosis. Once you do, please let me know, along with your mileage.
