DCT service choices

Hey all I was thinking of changing the DCT oil but after reading up on some of the DCT posts on here i'm trying to come to a conclusion on what to do with my fiances car!
-2012 Focus ti auto built in Feb of 2012

She currently has 145000 KM on it and it does shudder changing up from 1st gear sometimes, she does drive it hard so i was looking at changing the transmission fluid, started reading some posts and now i see that Ford has allegedly extended the warranty for some of the DCT parts.

Has anyone in Canada dealt with this at a Ford dealer with a high mileage car?

I can do the work myself but if they are admitting to the problem and willing to fix it i guess i have a few KM left before my chance runs out!

You're at the right number of km. to change transmission oil, it's 2 qts. of the Ford transmission fluid to do so.

Strictly gearbox lube, it shouldn't have an appreciable affect on shifting feel as the clutches are dry.

I would suggest to go to the dealer and tell them to fix your DCT. You'll probably get new fluid at the same time under warranty...

I didn't have to deal with it at my dealer here in Montreal, however I talk to the mechanics when I go there. Parts are currently backorder (5-6 weeks wait in average). Go asap and wait for it...

Hey SR71Blackbird,

Our Ford-Certified Technicians are the experts and in the best position you to assist at this time. I suggest taking your fiancé's Focus to the dealer to get this resolved. Let me know how it goes.
