TSB 13-5-11: creaking/crunching sound from front suspension

Taking this out of the titanium rattle thread as I think this is different from the problem that can be fixed by greasing the struts/bump-stops

Has anyone had real success in fixing this creaking/squeak/crunching sound from the front suspension?

The easiest way to replicate is to drive over these short rubber speed bumps (sleeping policemen if you're in the UK i guess)

I'll post a video of the sound later today (if I can capture it with my phone's camera)

Some data points. My car has 8200 miles, it's a 2013 with the 201a package (17" wheels). The noise started at around 3500 miles

I brought the car to the dealer on Saturday 6/20/14 and they "lubricated the front suspension". That did not solve it. I think they pulled up the other TSB on rattles instead.

I'll be bringing it back this Wednesday and leaving it with them for a few days. Before I get to that though, I wonder if anyone has actually solved this...

The guys over on the Escape forum dont seem to have any luck: http://www.fordescape.org/forum/prob...d-noise-2.html

The 2014 and 2015 have different struts and springs up front - I can only hope that those new parts fixed this and became the parts to address this TSB. I find it hard to believe that this is normal and is probably the biggest thing from making me want to keep this car post lease.

Lower Control Arm

Found this post by a member where the dealer replaced the lower control arm (i assume that's the same as the suspension table)

I have had my car in twice for a clunk in the front suspension. At this point I hear it over every tiny imperfection in the road. Sometimes I think I can feel it too. The first time I took it in, they did the TSB that replaced the bearings. That seemed to work for a few 1000 miles and then it came back, I think even worse. Second time, they "lubed everything up". That didn't fix anything, heard it 10 miles into the drive home.

I also get a "bang" or something feeling like it is hitting the floor board by my left foot, when I am making tight maneuvers, like parking, or something that requires me to turn the wheel to it's almost full locked position. I can even sit in a parking spot and rotate my steering wheel and recreate the thump/bang in the floor board not even moving.

I have also noticed that the more people I put in the car, the worse the sound and feeling is.

I actually first noticed this going over speed bumps or curbs around 3000 - 4000 miles. I now have almost 11000, and haven't had it resolved yet and it's just getting worse.

Dropped it off at the Ford dealership. Second time around and I'm now driving around in a gold 4-cyl Malibu rental. I must admit, I think Ford is at least way ahead of GM with the Fusion (even Focus)

Service advisor is thinking new struts will fix the squeaky suspension - but we'll find out. I'll keep you all posted.

How many times do we have to keep going back to fix the same thing??

My squeak/crunching sound came back after a few thousand. And it was a TSB fix the first time....

Got the car back and dealer performed TSB 13-12-9 - the squeaky suspension was 95% fixed and dealer tech said it is borderline normal. I wasn't sure what he meant but the suspension was quieter over bumps even though there were still hints of a squeak.

This was until my hard working sales person put me in a 2014 - going over the same bumps, the 2014 was SILENT, more solid and just felt better in the primary and secondary rides. This makes sense... I don't remember my car being this loud when it was new

I'll just drive it around for a few days and let's see how this goes...

Any update on this? Just did 13-12-9 and I'm still hearing the noises bad.
