I brought my car to a new dealership Gus Machado in Kendall, Florida on behalf of C/S from Ford. Crystal notified Mario, local Regional Customer Service Manager.
Was a great experience from the time I walked in. Not like MIDWAY Ford!!!.
The SA was a former Marine and we chatted about the good ole days :)
I wanted an oil change at 9828 miles while I was there and fix the rear seat cushion concern and the shuddering in my DCT believing it only required the TSB flash.
Well...........the Clutches are bad and on order and I can recover the car tonight while the parts are on order. 10,000 miles!!!! 11 months old!!!!
Holy Bat Crap Batman, the car is NEW!!! I am totally concerned that this will be an ongoing problem. If the clutches are bad, will not driving the car cause additional damage?

Who knows? I drove with my bad clutch for an additional 40k miles over the first (read: enjoyable) 20k miles and nothing has happened yet. Finally getting the clutch replaced next week.

I would ask them to reset the TCM when they change the clutches to delete any learned behaviour. Other than that your dealing with an issue that is common enough to be known about. Hopefully the new clutches solve your problems.

To put you at ease, I had my clutches replaced about 4k miles ago at about 15k and I now have 19.7k. In those 4k miles after the replacements shutter has gotten TONS better. Just be aware of a very jerky car the first few days as the clutches are bedding in and doing their initial break in

I got a replacement clutch pack and seals over a thousand miles ago and it's been better than the first day I got it. They performed some kind of new adaptive clutch engagement; the previous statements of "you can't feather the throttle" (myself included) have been largely incorrect, now. The car performs exactly like you want it to. Roll the accelerator, holds gear until redline shift. Drop the throttle, stomp to 40%, it downshifts, roll accelerator, redline shift. If you stomp to about 60-70% I've gotten a few successful 2 downshift and I dont ever remember being able to do this in a conventional AT.

Yes ford has been helpful. The SA warned me about the adaptive learning for about a month after theY repair the tranny next week. It will run rough. Like I said love the car just a bit disappointed about a failure so soon. At least I hope I will not be a highway statistic after the fix. I still have half the people left in the world to piss off before I die lol .

It's likely your clutches failed because a leaking seal allowed them to be contaminated with transmission fluid. The dealer should change the seals along with the clutch pack, which ought to result in a long-lasting solution.
In other words, the seal is probably the defective part, not the clutch. But you may want to confirm the seals will be replaced just to be sure.
