DCT is no longer making noise! Finally

My 2012 SEL just hit 12,700 miles and is now shifting correctly. :). Finally! I always heard that it needs a "break-in" period before the grinding noise stops, I just didn't think it would take quite that long. I have had the car for about 8 months now. Just thought I would share in case anyone is getting fustrated with the shifting noise as I was.

10,700 and mine does not grind anymore...but, lots of clicks from the shifter system I guess. Does shift smooth now without the hunting. Flashed to latest update.

I just got my Focus back today after 2 weeks. Mine was grinding and shuddering, so I took it in and they replaced the clutches, found a leak, and fixed it. The car drives noticeably better. I still hear a grinding sound, but from these forums, it's my understanding that the new clutches need to break in. The grinding sound isn't that loud though. With the radio on, you can't even hear it.

I don't have any 'grinding' noises that I can hear at just over 500 miles but my windows are up. It's still cold out here.

Hmmm...I'm sitting just below 10,000 miles and the noises have gotten less frequent but it has it's moments. My biggest issue now is that the dome lights don't illuminate when I press the unlock button on my IKT pad. I have to press lock then unlock a second time to get the dome lamps to light.

Me, too. I posted elsewhere that I suspected the 13 year old boy who lives in the bedroom across the hall from mine of pushing a button, but getting a straight answer out of him is not going to happen.

I think these controls are digital (BCM controlled), and there is some combination of buttons that you can push to fix that. I'm pretty sure someone on FF will know and eventually I'll find the easy way to reset it.
