2012 Focus Key Fob battery keeps dying

Good Afternoon everyone,
I have a confusing issue, the battery in both of my Key Fobs has had to be replaced twice now in Two months (Thats a lot of two's). I have a key that I use daily and a key that is the spare that does not get alot of use, but both batteries need to be replaced, told to do so by the car, or they are just flat dead.

Car Detail = I bought the car from Car Max (January of this year), 2012 Focus Hatchback, Titanium.

I was wondering if anyone else was having a issue like that?

I'm using CR2032 battery type (which I found from another post here about Key Fobs) and I saw a message about a MFT update (in the same thread that I found the battery type in), I'm not sure what a MFT is or if I need to worry about getting it updated.

Here is the link to that post:

Changing battery in Titanium key fob?

I'm very happy with the car but this key fob battery issue is frustrating.

Thanks for the replys.

Hi cwharb,

I recommend visiting your local Ford dealership so they can inspect your key fobs. They'll be your best bet to get some answers.

MFT is MyFord Touch. My colleague Jaclyn helps with all in-vehicle technology inquiries and can be contacted under the user name FordIVTTeam.

Thanks Crystal and cappa,
I was going to lean towards the dealership too but I hoped that I was just doing something wrong. It's easier to fix a problem I was doing, then have to go to the dealership... but so far the dealership has keep my F150 running fine soooo hopefully it will be quick.

Have a great night.
