Where do you keep your pistol?

I hope I don't ruffle too many feathers with this question.

I am a legally allowed to carry a pistol concealed and I'd like to find a good place in my focus to either mount a holster system or hide my pistol, but that's easily accessible from a seated position.

Lockboxes or any positioning not immediately accessable without having to bend over or lean are not what I'm thinking about. I want a holster that I can grab a pistol out of in less than a second if needed. Also I need it to not interfere with normal operation of the vehicle. Discrete when possible but open carry is legal in my state.

Any ideas?

I was going to try for a steering column mount, but this column doesn't have the right style. Center console is tiny and will only hold my smallest carry firearm. Glovebox is too far away. Also having to open a door to access the pistol wastes too much time.

Thank-you

I used to carry all the time, just left it in the center console or glove box. I never do anymore, too much hassle.

Id say just put it under the seat in a lockbox or mount a holster there. That's my plan, getting a ccw this spring

Moved to MkIII Interior Mods section.

Here's a prev. thread on the subject here for more answers:

Handgun Storage

My knee would be hitting that last one all the time, it usually occupies that space.

Thanks, I tried searching but couldn't find any previous posts. Maybe I'm just bad at searching.

lockbox is a no-go as I don't want anything limiting the time it takes to draw.

Under the seat may be possible with modification, but not my first choice as it involves an awkward movement and likely breaking eye contact with an aggressor.

Something like that, definitely. Would prefer to modify so my knee doesn't constantly hit that area though.

links for manufacturer?

Too quick can bite you just as bad as too slow. Wanting to get to a gun yesterday can be testosterone talking and often leads to other unwanted issues.

My view only of course.............I carry too when needed. That last 10 seconds is the most important in your life one way or the other. I myself prefer to think about things then rather than already waving the gun around.
