New to the Focus world

Hey all, new to the Focus world and this forum. I'm a member on a few other forums but no Ford forums. Bought a 2012 and a 2013 Ford Focus SE. The 2012 is mine and the 2013 is my girlfriends. Hers has Sync and all that jazz. She wants to change her interior lights to pink(wants to black the whole car out) and also wants to change the instrument cluster display to pink as well. Is it as simple as pulling the cluster and replacing LEDs or is it not possible? Thanks in advance. I'm sure I'll find tons of info here about the new additions to my stockade.

She knows I'm too mechanically inclined to use that excuse haha. Going to debadge and dip the wheels black for her. Trying to talk her out of the hideous pink windshield wipers.

Welcome,

As for your cluster lights. If they take bulbs like the older ones (2000 - 2005ish is all I am familiar with) than yes change the bulbs.

If the cluster is illuminated with LEDs than you need to find ones that use the same voltage as the ones in it. I changed all the switches in my 2001 from stock green to red. Thay were all surface mount and the red worked fine. I changed the fog light LED from stock Yellow to Purple and before a year the LED burnt out (guessing due to voltage difference).

Good luck in your project and document for others.

I will back the no pink also. But that's just me. I got lucky and the current woman as well as the last woman did not care for pink.

I know they a company in the UK used to make gel ford badges to stick over the OEM ones and you could get those in Pink. Although I believe Ford made the company stop making them last summer.

Moved this one to MkIII Interior Mods to see what other responses you can get.

Changing LED's was common in earlier models, I haven't noticed if anyone has done it to these myself.
