Got mine today.

Yes black still has the chrome ring on it.

Threw the OEM ones in the trash. No reason to ever need them again.

Great easy mod

When these knobs are installed, does the right-hand knob block the view of the defrost settings from the driver's seat? The picture below looks like a straight-on shot, and the defrost icon is partially blocked:

In my usual driving position it does not block the defrost symbol. However, my wife, who is shorter than I, says that it does.

Short answer: it depends.

Added mine. They look nice, but i broke the ac position knob assembly.

When I started getting frustrated the muscle beat the brains. I pulled and i could hear a small piece break off inside the ac assembly. Now the knob spins 360 degrees. Awesome... And the stock knobs are all chewed up.

I used a thick dish towel and a pair of adjustable pliers. Just give enough pressure to keep the knob in the jaws, pull straight back and be steady. The towel will keep the OEM knobs from getting marred up.
