Need Help - I'm An Idiot - Headlights

So recently I came back from the dealer for an oil change and he mentioned that my air filter needs changing and one of the marker bulbs was burnt out. Wanted $85 to change both. I'm a newbie (I don't even do my own oil changes but I think I will after going through this experience of changing a bulb and air filter) so I thought I'd watch a few YouTube videos and tackle it myself.

Changed my air filter without too much trouble. Hardest part was putting back the cover so that it aligned.

The parking/marker light was a pain though. All the YouTube vidoes I watched the guy removed the entire headlight assembly. They used a flat head screw driver to detach the power plug. When I did it I broke the clip. I then had to use a small flat head screw, insert it into the socket of the parking/marker light bulb and then rotate and remove it.

Two questions:

1. Is it supposed to be this remove the parking/marker light bulb?

2. Now that I've broken the clip to the power socket, is there any other way to remove it in the future if I needed to? I've attached a photo.

Sorry for the long post.

Live and Learn. Those type of switches are a pain to remove. Answer to your question about removal. Since clip is broken all you have to do is pull out.

Sorry to question you since you're the only guy that replied, but are you sure? It's still pretty stuck! :(

I can't help myself but say "That's what she said" to your "... all you have to do is pull out." :)

Those clips break all the time. I broke mine over 2 years ago and haven't had any problems.

Agree the 'tab' on teh end is broken, but the actual nob in the connector is still visible, and yes you still have to PUSH DOWN on the part circled, and the "V" notch/bump (you can see) in the open square ahead of that... still has to slip under the plastic notch.

So the holding part is still intact, only the end of the lever broke off. No big deal.. as others mentioned.
Wiggle is the operative word. And maybe some sort of fluid to lub the connector parts. Some silicone spray might help.

It takes a bit of wiggling to unplug the harness. They're on there good.
