Changing headlights after accident

I need to replace deadlights on my newly bought Focus that was in an accident.
OEM Headlights are pretty expensive, so I came across these guys
Ebay $145.99
2012 2013 2014 Ford Focus Sedan/Hatchback Headlights Replacement Lamps Pair
However, it looks like I can add a little extra cash and projector ones

EBAY $219.96
Fits-Euro-Spec-Plug-N-Play-12-14-Focus-Black-DRL-Strip-Projector-Headlights

I am brand spanking new to Focus family (Ford at all), but I really like the car. ANy input and.or suggestions are much aprecitated.

None have the quality level of the OEM's, many threads here on the pro's & con's of the various options in general - always new ones popping up as well.

Fogging of the plastic lens and water intrusion are the major issues over time with the replacements.

Interesting, they look much nicer, though. However, any ideas how long could they last?
Is it so bad that they last few months or few years before fading or they start having water intrusion?

I hate to generalize, as experiences vary, but from comments here I'd say it's not something you can expect years of service from.

Some have issues immediately and might be returnable, others within a year or so. A couple years without issue would be good performance from many.

But I'm reporting on the pessimistic side, there aren't a lot of reports avail. for long term issues and we hear more about the problems here.

I hear you. Good thing you leaning more towards pessimistic side, not to set high expectations. The projector headlights come with a 10yr warranty, that's what triggered me.

Many members have picked up aftermarket lights for the looks, or modified their existing ones. Don't know how many actually sold their stock ones though, most seem to save them for backup.

I'd take a 10 yr. warranty with a grain of salt, and look close at the terms. Most of the sources have only been active for a short time, will you be able to contact them in a few years? Popular brand that's only existed for a couple years and it's an import? (as all of those are)

You'll find references here to ones that members are happy with on the whole, but none with a long history of dependable use resembling what you'd expect from stock.

Check out the BST section for used units, we get ones avail. there from retrofits and from people who traded cars & still have their old stock ones in storage.

Finding used oem lights on eBay is probably your best bet, they pop up cheap sometimes

This is the eBay seller that I bought my OEM Titanium headlights from. He seems to always have a line on used sets and his prices aren't bad. Shipping was quick and really well packaged.
