Clear coat on Ford rims peeling off

Anyone have any similar issues with Ford rims peeling the clear coat off?

I purchased the vehicle brand new it's a 2013 Ford Focus SE with the gun metal rims. I currently have 49,000 miles on the vehicle.

I never used hard chemicals to wash my car and take it maybe 5 times a year to a car wash due to Illinois winters.

I usually hand wash my car and today I hand washed it and noticed this...

Anyone know what I should do or if Ford would even fix the issue?

I understand probably out of warranty by a little but seriously 3 out of 4 rims with clear coat damage.

My car doesn't have dents, scratches or curb rush. And I'm sure the rims will continue to peel and look horrendous very soon!

If Ford won't help me, I'll make sure next time to not buy a Ford if my rims will be trashy looking 3 years after brand new purchased.

Where do you live? You could have salty roads or other harmful road conditions

Yeah I figured I'd just take them and get them powder coated black after the winter because I can't stand to look at trashy wheels

It's only on one wheel right now but I spend a lot of time behind the wheel of my focus so I really don't worry about the small things. I have other repairs that I half to tend to like a leaky valve cover and two leaks from the timing cover. Those are a lot more important.

My 2009 Focus SES wheels started peeling like that around 100-110k miles.

It may only be one wheel now, but the rest will do it.

Those specific multi-spoke wheels became famous for peeling, unlike the similar ones used on the Euro SVT models.

We'll see what the long run results are for this specific MkIII type.
