2016 S Fob and my key

I bought a focus S and wanted to make sure I got the correct key types. I got a fob with 4 buttons, and a plain looking key that I believe is a my key. Should I have received 2 fobs?

Thanks to anybody that has the S model.

That's exactly what I got and I also got the "S." I really doubt they give two fobs even on the higher class focus.

Anyone have luck with using the $20 remote/key blanks from eBay rather than paying $100 for the part at the dealer? My used Focus only came with one key. I realize I still need to go to the dealer and cough up $110 for getting the key cut and programmed. I got two of the eBay key blanks so my plan is to program the third myself once I have the two working keys.

I'm thinking most cars come with 2 fobs? That is why I'm asking. But I could be wrong on the two fobs.

Yes Irish Brewer:

I'm looking into maybe getting an extra fob and programming without paying through the nose. Then i might try and get an Ebay fob and program it myself. I understand you need two working fobs to program another one?

Then if you have two fobs, you don't need to pay to have it done anymore........

I have to take the beast to the dealer to get the Sync to let me enter my phone via bluetooth. Apparently the dealer needs do something. I had somebody via tech try a reset with me, and no dice. Hope it's not a sign of future problems........

I think most normal cars come with 2 fobs. S is the basic model. So I think what I got is probably correct.

I was told $240 to get a new fob, and programing.

Every car should come with two identical keys/fobs.

Is the fob separate from the key? If so it's an "accessory" install, and you might only get one.

The focus is pretty basic, yet light years ahead of my other car a 98 Taurus. It is kind of an economy car, so i guess the bean counters prevailed in this instance..........

Maybe Ford's cost was $30 for another fob. So that saved them that said amount?
