I was doing some research and I found that Ford possibly has a new clutch manufacturer for the DCT but I'm not sure who is supplying them nor if that is even true. Is anyone aware of a new manufacturer? I know LuK has been supplying the clutches to Ford but I'm not sure if they're still supplying them. Renault has the same transmission but different clutch manufacturer and therefore not many widespread problems from what I have read. Any insight is appreciated!

Please let VW AUDI guys do these DLC trannys! I had a dual clutch golf and it ran smoother than anything I have ever driven. Couldn't even FEEL the gear changes. Just oooomph from start to 80 and willing for more. AND NOT even a shift was felt. Now that's how you do DLC.

That will NEVER happen on a focus.

Different dual clutch application in the USA Golf, it is a "wet" dual clutch.

Why? Getrag has a wet clutch 7-speed ready to go, already in use in several Renault products.

My guess it's money as is all things with North America. A few dollars more per unit doesn't sound like much but multiply that by millions and Ford gets nervous and opts for cheaper lowest bidder for the unit. Now if enough of us get together and tell Ford that they will eat crow because they put profit before enthusiasts they will LOSE loyal ford brand customers to others in the next few years. I think they were not thinking long term here. The car is the most beautiful of all the hatches out there why oh why did they (ford) take shortcuts with the automatic tranny? WHY? That's all I want to know WHY? FORD WHY?
